About This Site
Hi! I'm Matt Handzel. I'm running an experiment where I'm trying to put the 'personal' in personal website. I want this website to entirely represent who I am, what I care about, how I think, what are my "inputs", and "outputs".
What You Can Find Here
Here you can get a glimpse into my life through various lenses. You can explore my bucket list, see my active to-do list, and browse the projects I'm working on, including my project ideas.
I also share the principles that guide me, my daily habits, and the communities I'm a part of.
If you're interested in what I'm consuming, you can see the books I've read and other interesting links I've found. I also have dedicated pages for my line dancing.
For a more direct look into my mind, you can read my captured thoughts, or even check out my failures and victories. I also document my personal standards and, for the curious, there's even a page about dating me.
Why Am I Doing This?
I'm very much into quantified self and I have a fear of posting myself online.
For those that know me, this is a place where you can check in and see how I'm doing. For those that don't know me, this is a place for you to get an authentic understanding of who I am.
How It Works
All content originates from markdown files in my Obsidian vault, which gets processed by Python scripts, stored in a database, and then rendered through atomic React components.
