Washington, DC. I'm visiting this week to meet people working on AI safety and policy. I'm normally in Berkeley.

What I'm working on. I'm in the extension of the Generator residency, where I get to pick one project and use it to test a career direction. I'm deciding what to spend late October through mid December on, so I'm talking to people across AI safety before I commit.

What I'm building. I'm building software for my own workday with Claude Code. One app turns each day's to-dos into timed tasks, each with a written picture of what done looks like. I also made gdoc-sync keep Google Docs comments attached to the text they point at.

What I'm publishing. What I Learned Being a Chief of Staff, lessons from my nine weeks as a chief of staff at an early-stage startup this summer.

What I'm learning. I went to a CFAR (Center for Applied Rationality) workshop from September 30 to October 4. I'm practicing what it taught, including trigger-action plans and resolve cycles.

What I'm curious about. I want to know what products should exist in AI safety and don't yet. If you have one in mind, I'd love to hear it.
