Learning follows diminishing returns, in order to mitigate this, you need to get new tools/a different learning experience or else you're going to waste time. This is why it is important to track learning so that you can realize when you reach the point of diminishing-returns.[^1] Learning rate is directly proportional to how difficult the task is and how much cognitive load you have.
analogies are effective at learning because they allow the learner to make connections and thus remember and understand things better.
