Things to keep in mind during interview:
- Be authentic
- Sell yourself
- Keep it concise
- Show enthusiasm
When answering questions do not ramble or bore the interviwer. Also, do not talk too much, if there is silence, do not try and fill it. Be concise.
The purpose of an interview is to see if you can do the job, and if the hiring manager can see people working with you.
Do research on the person who is interviewing you
Roles of people in the interviewing pipeline: External recruiter: Someone not part of the company who vets people Internal recruiter/HR Rep: Someone who works for the company who vets people HR Manager: Someone who would be my boss and decides if I will be hired
Questions and how to answer them
Tell me about yourself: Answer with who you are, why you are qualified, and why you want to work with them.
Make sure that you do not ramble on about your past, and show enthusiasm
Why do you want to work here: Answer with: Why you want to work for this company, and why you are interested in that role in particular.
They are asking this question because they want to make sure that you know aobut the company, and actually want to work there. They want to know what you're specifically interested in from the organization.
Behavorial Questions: Answer with: STAR method, tell a story
Make sure the story is you at your best, it proves that you are qualified for this job, and that I would be pleasurable to work with.
Weakness Question: This question is a real weakness that isn't a handicap to the job & is also something you are actively improving on.
